My passion for music, as well as my interest for musical instruments and their materials, have lead my research since the early’80. Lutes and violin, through the use of wood, strings, their forms and harmony of their constitution, have inspired my systems. - Franco Serblin

"After three years of research and development, LIGNEA, one of the last projects conceived by Franco Serblin, has become a reality. During all the steps, I always followed his teaching and his “modus operandi” for every single detail. Today I wish to affirm that the value we give to things is the meaning we put in them The value I attribute to the LIGNEA project is the profound esteem I always had for Franco."

Harmony is the result of the need to blend in a single loudspeaker the knowledge and the love for wood with the passion for the research. It is this sense of true harmony that overwhelms us when these elements combine in perfect balance.

I have always loved small speakers, for their discreet presence, for their suitability in less critical environments, for the “magic” which they often are able to create in music reproduction. With "Accordo", I followed design patterns that are particularly dear to me. A sound, a voice capable of reaching the depths of the soul

Franco Serblin’s visual aesthetic was very refined; just look at his speakers. But, he also had a very specific aural aesthetic. As such, the Accordos are very ‘Serblin specific’ to placement. More specific than any speaker I’ve reviewed. This care offers musical dividends that will erase the time you have spent to set up. Be patient. And also with break in.

The inspiration for this new project comes from the elusive beauty of the Goldberg variations. It is a complex yet perfect creation.

The chord is one of the foundations of music, essential for the tuning of a musical instrument. If we consider a large orchestra, a single instrument or a piece of music, without preconceptions, there is a chord at the base of it all. Voicing a speaker involves the tuning and harmonizing of the different parts into something uniquely expressive and coherent: from the drivers to the crossover parts, from the cabinet to its support, the singularity of each element blends into a whole, a presence capable of giving to listeners the “quality of illusion”.

Geometry: 4 ways 5 units. The two low frequency radiators are compression - loaded and room - interfaced at the lower part of the rear of the enclosure. Above the "fusion" frequency the mid - high cardioids radiators reproduce the significant part of the spectrum, at the top section of the front of the cabinet.

The cabinet: is a rigid, triple arch - shaped, structure. The two lateral front cheeks are concave, while the woofer compressor is convex.

The tweeter: is a well - established and time proven 28 mm soft - dome unit, created by Ragnar Lian, one of the greatest Danish masters of transducer design.

The midrange: array consists of two 4" units in a step - compensated, baffle, in a cardioids acoustic - resistance configuration, for the most accurate reproduction of the musical perspective. - The woofers: are two 9" metal cone, piston performance optimized units, in a compression - controlled and room - interfaced configuration.

The crossover: is a mutational variable slope, coherent spatial radiation design.
